is an internationally acclaimed yogi, mentor, teacher, and coach, recognized for his pioneering contributions to holistic well-being. Rooted in the spiritual traditions of India and extending his influence worldwide, his journey embodies the transformative power of yoga across all aspects of life.
Sanjeev leads lectures, trainings, and seminars that guide individuals on profound journeys of self-discovery and life mastery. His life’s work offers a clear path to inner peace, demonstrating yoga’s powerful ability to help navigate life’s challenges while fostering a happier, healthier, and more connected life.
the yoga scientist
Sanjeev sees yoga not just as a practice, but as a science -
a precise & systematic exploration of the self. Like a true scientist, he approaches yoga with curiosity, inquiry, and experimentation, asking fundamental questions:
What makes me “me”? How do I experience the world? And how can I change this experience for the better?
Drawing on ancient wisdom, combined with modern research, Sanjeev bridges tradition and science to create an approach that’s as much about discovery as it is transformation.
roots in india
Growing up amidst the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan, Sanjeev’s early fascination with the human mind and body evolved into a lifelong pursuit of spirituality and self-discovery. Introduced to yogic wisdom by village Sadhus in his childhood.
Trained as a Naturopath and yoga therapist in India, he worked as a yoga therapist in Delhi before moving to Switzerland in 1999. He specialized in breathing-related challenges like asthma and other upper respiratory diseases. This marked the inception of a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
a pioneering spirit
A pioneering spirit has always driven Sanjeev Bhanot’s journey. Early on, he brought yoga to unexpected places - teaching prisoners at Tihar Jail in New Delhi, as well as celebrities from acting, arts, and sports.
From these beginnings, his influence quickly expanded globally, reaching cities like London, Geneva, San Francisco, Paris, Berlin and beyond. He taught yoga on Indian national TV, developed one of the first yoga teacher training programs in Geneva, Switzerland, supported the inaugural yoga program at the Chopra Center, California, and consulted for the film crew of Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat Pray Love.
His work spans multiple United Nations agencies (e.g. UNHCR, WHO, UNFCCC, ILO), global corporations such as Nokia/Siemens and Telekom, and forward-thinking initiatives like the Solar Impulse project led by Swiss pilots Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg.
He is currently contributing to academic research at Humboldt University Berlin, supporting the intersection of yoga, psychology, and neuroscience. Read more about the research here.
a unique approach
Drawing on over 30 years of professional experience and a rich spectrum of global collaborations, Sanjeev Bhanot distilled the essence of his work into Antastha Yoga - a unique, pragmanon-dogmatic approach that harmoniously integrates ancient yogic wisdom with modern scientific insights and coaching methodologies.
Derived from the Sanskrit word "Antastha," meaning "the deepest," this holistic method nurtures the body, mind, and inner self, allowing practitioners to swiftly attain profound meditative states and its benefits- an achievement traditionally requiring years of dedicated practice. With profound insight into the depths of the human experience, he empowers people from all walks of life to realize their full potential. Read more about Antastha.
